Today we feature these adorable holiday photos of Ava (Age 7) and her little brother Hayden (Age 3) taken by the lovely Amanda of Amanda Day Photography.

About Amanda: I am a portrait photographer serving the Virgina, Maryland, and DC area who is based out of Virginia.

Tell us a little something about you. Where are you from and how did you get your start in photography?
My name is Amanda and I'm originally from Maryland but moved with my husband and children to Virginia a few years ago.  Not a far move but surprisingly enough of a move that we now have a completely different lifestyle.  It's a bit more country and slower paced.  I first got "introduced" to photographer in High School and then took a few classes while at college.  Mostly film and technical aspects.  I didn't learn photoshop until many years later and with that I am mostly self trained.  Four years ago I made the leap from hobbyist to portrait photographer.

Where do you find inspiration to keep your photography creative and unique?
My children inspire me the most.  It's the way they think and the stories they tell.  My favorite sessions are styled children's sessions.  I feel like it gives an opportunity to tell a story and play on imagination.  I'm working on an animal/nature inspired series with my daughter right now.  It's so much fun to take a picture from my own imagination and search out the perfect outfit and location to make it come to life.  I searched for 3 months for the perfect red dress for this years Christmas photos.  I knew exactly what I wanted but couldn't find it.  I love the vindiebaby swimsuits and vintage look so I decided to check them out and there is was.  The dress I had dreamed up and was beginning to think didn't exist.

Please describe your photography style to our readers:
I would like to think that my photography style continues to evolve as I learn more and find new inspirations but I try to stay classic and as timeless as possible.  After all, once my work is done these photos will one day be someones memories that they pass on to future generations.   There is something kind of magical in that.
